TJ MATHEWS

TJ Mathews born in Columbia, IL went on to play baseball for Ric Lessman at STLCC-Meramec in the 1990 season where he had a tremendous season for the perineal region 16 favorite Warriors. He then transferred to the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Originally drafted by the Oakland Athletics in 1990, he didn’t sign and was drafted again 1992 by the St. Louis Cardinals. Mathews worked his way up through the minor leagues to eventually land in the MLB with the Cardinals for three seasons 1995-1997.

Mathews was a member of the Cardinals during their National League Central Division Championship run in 1996.

He was traded to the Oakland Athletics in 1997 by the St. Louis Cardinals for Mark McGwire.

After the Athletics, Mathews had stints in the minors with the Astros and on the major league Houston team as well. He also spent time in the minor leagues with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox.
